Congratulations to Jenny Ashmore for winning the Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Award at the recent Aquatics and Recreation Victoria Awards ceremony at Crown Casino.

Jenny is an excellent teacher, who has a vivacious yet relaxed teaching manner. She has an excellent work ethic, is very dedicated to her job and is able to relate to every age group from infants to adults and people of all abilities. As a result, she is able to plan her lessons to cater for every individual, and even undertook an Auslan course to communicate with some of her students. Jenny has been a great mentor for candidates undertaking their AUSTSWIM hours which in turn has had a positive impact on the industry. Parents, students and management alike appreciate her professional and caring manner.

Congratulations also to Karen Newell, who was a finalist in the Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics award category.
