Rod Black, 7th Dan is the Chief Instructor with over 35 years experience in the martial arts field. Other instructors include:
Ali Rahimi – 4th Dan
Classes for Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced, Competitors, Poomsae and Self-defence
To ensure that our beginners are cared for properly and that their training needs are met, we have programmed 13 children’s beginner classes, 4 teens classes and 10 adult beginners classes every week (Please refer to our timetable for Kids Martial Arts Classes).
We go to great lengths to ensure that our new members are made to feel welcome. We offer potential members with a week try out period to give them the opportunity to see if our club and our style of teaching is for them.
Uniform
Black Taekwondo has a completely white taekwondo uniform (Do Bok) with the appropriate belt. However, the beginner is not required to purchase this for a short period as tracksuit pants and T-shirt will be acceptable. The uniform must always be clean and presentable with the correct club and association badges and correct grading indication attached to the belt. Only white socks, shoes and T-shirts are to be warn with the do bok. All jewellery such as long necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings must be removed before training to ensure the safety of yourself and others. If you compete you must wear the club tracksuits and T-shirts to all events and competitions.
Million Dollar Body (MDB) Glove & Bag Fitness Workout
MDB (Million Dollar Body) Glove & Bag Workout is a specially designed fitness program. The exercise routine uses punching bags, skipping ropes and other assorted equipment. It is based on a combination of routines derived from fight fitness, general boxing, martial arts, kick boxing and street defence techniques.
It is however not fight training, Taekwondo or boxing although it incorporates some of each element.
MDB fees:
$60 club registration (per annum)
10 sessions @ $135
Each card is a 10 session pass and is punched when the participant attends a MDB class. Therefore all participants attend on a casual basis. |

Taekwondo was once known as Korean Karate, and today is practised by over 42,000,000 people in 186 countries throughout the world. It is an Olympic sport and is normally seen as the most successful martial art in the world.
