Learn to swim program  

Aquanation's Learn to Swim program offers a range of lessons for all ages and abilities, from baby classes right through to adults wanting to refine technique.

Our AUSTSWIM qualified teachers focus on individual learning to ensure we meet the needs of all participants.

Classes available

We offer the following programs at Aquahub in Croydon and Aquanation in Ringwood:

  • Infants (6 months - 3 years)
  • Preschool (3 - 5 years)
  • School age (5 years +)
  • Access for All Abilities (AAA) for those with a disability
  • Adults

Learn to Swim pricing starts at $21.00 per week.

Children's program

At Aquanation, we believe that learning swimming and water safety skills should be both educational and enjoyable.

Maroondah Leisure teaches the Swim and Survive Program, a comprehensive Royal Lifesaving initiative that seeks to prevent drowning and increase participation in safe aquatic activity.  

  • Dedicated learn to swim pool
  • AUSTSWIM qualified teachers
  • Focus on individual learning
  • Unlimited access to all Maroondah Leisure aquatic facilities (excluding steam room, spa and sauna) at any time, including swim entry for one accompanying parent or guardian
  • Year-round lessons, pausing for Christmas, New Year and Easter periods
  • Express interest in the Holiday Intensive Swim Program: five consecutive days of swimming lessons in the school holidays, run five times per year. Places are limited and are not guaranteed. 

Program details:

  • Infants (6 months - 3 years)

    In-water parent or carer participation
    Learn through play, games and fundamental movement skills
    Infants and Toddlers | Royal Life Saving Society - Australia 

  • Preschool (3 - 5 years)

    Independent participation (transition level for less confident)
    Learn and develop fundamental movement skills

  • School age (5 years )

    Ages from 5 years to 12 years
    Focus on personal survival, water safety and lifesaving to complement strong swimming skills
    Active practise, activity, and scenario-based learning
    Progressions to achieve National Benchmarks and beyond
    Primary School | Royal Life Saving Society - Australia 

  • Teens
    Ages from 13 years to 16 years
    Focus on personal survival, water safety and lifesaving to complement strong swimming skills
    Beginner, intermediate and advanced classes

Adult classes

Aquanation's adult learn to swim program caters to all ages and abilities. With beginner, intermediate and advanced classes available, our adult swimming lessons help those with limited or no swimming experience to those who wish to increase endurance and refine technique. 

Our instructors are all AUSTSWIM qualified and follow the Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive curriculum. The program has a focus on individual learning to ensure it meets the needs of all participants.

Access for All Abilities

Our Access for All Abilities program is available for students with additional learning needs.

We work with parents to find a suitable swim teacher for their student, and work to transition students to group lessons where applicable.

How to book or enquire

You can make an enquiry or book into our Learn to Swim program the following ways:

Book online

The first step to making a new booking is to login or create an account on our online portal. You will then be able to complete an online assessment which will guide you to ensure you book yourself/your child/ren into the right class. 

Make a booking

Step 1 - get your account ready

You will either need to login, setup a password, or setup an account:

Option 1 - I have already setup my user account: Login to your account then go to step 2. Login

Option 2 - I have an account but this is my first time logging in: You will need to setup a password.

Select "Setup Password" below and enter the email address linked to your existing account and follow the email instructions to set up your password. Once complete, go to step 2. Setup password

Option 3 - I don't have an account: You will need to create an online account.

Select ‘create account’. Complete the registration details to create an account. Once complete, go to Step 2. Create account

Step 2 - add family members

Select ‘family and friends’ in the top menu bar and check that the family member you are enrolling is listed. If not, select the ‘add family member’ button and complete the required fields for your family member. If you are enrolling multiple children repeat this step for each family member.

Congratulations, you’ve set up your account! 

Step 3 - Complete assessment tool

Select the activity you want to book, then complete the Learn to Swim assessment tool. This will ensure you book yourself/your child/ren into the right class.

You will then be able to view all available class times and enrol online.

Step 4 - complete payment

Review your booking summary and complete your payment details.

Step 5 - booking complete

Once you have completed payment you will receive confirmation by email. To view your bookings, go to ‘My Bookings’ in the top menu tab of your online account.

Need to freeze (suspend) your lessons?

You are entitled to 4 weeks general (non-medical) suspension each calendar year.

If you need to suspend for a medical condition (including COVID-19 isolation) you can complete a medical freeze (suspension). You will require evidence from the Department of Health/Medical Certificate. This will not count towards your 4 weeks general suspension.
