Biddy Ball basketball programs - The Rings
The Rings can help your child get a great start in basketball in one of our junior programs. They provide an ideal way for children from 3 years to learn the basics of basketball with experienced coaches in an air conditioned and safe environment.
The focus of the term-based program is to help your child to progress in a way that suits their own interests and abilities. Your child will learn to play as a team, develop aerobic fitness, develop basketball skills and, of course, have fun!
- Program runs during school term (not on public holidays)
- $12.80 per week from January 2025
- Total cost of term is calculated at checkout. Registration fees will be reflective of the number of weeks for each program upon booking.
Key dates
Term 2 runs from Thursday 24 April to Friday 4 July 2025.
There will be no sessions on the public holidays: Friday 25 April and Monday 9 June.

A unique introduction to basketball for toddlers, conducted throughout the school term. Children develop coordination and social skills while having fun learning the basics of basketball by using modified equipment.

A fantastic introduction to basketball without full scale competition. This fun-filled development program teaches techniques, teamwork and etiquette of the game.

Monday 4:10pm and 5.05pm

An introduction to basketball exclusively for girls. The program teaches techniques, teamwork and etiquette of the game.

Biddy Ball Skills (All Abilities) is a fantastic social introduction to basketball. This term-based program is designed for children with a disability and provides an opportunity for them to come together in a social, supportive and inclusive environment while learning basketball skills.
We aim to help children progress in a way that suits their individual abilities and needs. We use modified teaching methods to deliver this fun-filled development program that teaches technique, teamwork and the fundamentals of the game.
We encourage parents and carers to be part of the program and welcome you to join in the fun on court.

Looking for a competition sport for your child? Well look no further, get them into basketball at The Rings!
All new players are welcome to join. Whether you're interested in a boys, girls or mixed team, we've got you covered. Referees help coach players throughout games, there is no scoring and no uniform required as loan singlets are provided.
Days: Friday – Fixtured games (start times will vary)
First game starts 4.10pm. Next game starts 5:05pm (subject to change)

How do you know when your child is ready for Biddy Ball Play?
How to book
You can manage all your Maroondah Leisure bookings in the one place on the online client portal. Once you have set up your account you will be ready to make a booking using the booking link in each program.
Step 1 - get your account ready
You will either need to login, setup a password, or setup an account:
Option 1 - I have already setup my user account: Login to your account then go to step 2.
Login
Option 2 - I have an account but this is my first time logging in: You will need to setup a password.
Select "Setup Password" below and enter the email address linked to your existing account and follow the email instructions to set up your password. Once complete, go to step 2.

Option 3 - I don't have an account: You will need to create an online account.
Select ‘create account’. Complete the registration details to create an account. Once complete, go to Step 2.

Step 2 - add family members
Select ‘family and friends’ in the top menu bar and check that the family member you are enrolling is listed. If not, select the ‘add family member’ button and complete the required fields for your family member. If you are enrolling multiple children repeat this step for each family member.
Congratulations, you’ve set up your account! You can now continue to make a booking.
Step 3 - make the booking
Scroll down to the programs on this webpage. Select the program you want to book then select ‘Make a booking’. This will take you to the online portal.
Choose your session, date and time, and select ‘Enrol now’. All family members on your account will be displayed. Select ‘Enrol now’ next to the name of the family member you are enrolling. If the family member is not listed go back to step 2 (add family members).
Step 4 - complete payment
Review your booking summary and complete payment.
Step 5 - booking complete
Once you have completed payment you will receive 2 emails. A payment confirmation email, and a booking confirmation email with details about your booking. To view your bookings, go to ‘My Bookings’ in the top menu tab of your online account.
