Dorset Golf course improvement works

Council is committed to improving winter playing conditions at Dorset Golf. Works include improved drainage, sand capping and cart path extensions on the front nine holes.
As part of Council’s capital works program, stage one will commence on Tuesday 7 February and be completed by Friday 10 March 2023.
Golfers will benefit from the improvements with less surface water on the fairways, improved drainage in flood prone areas and easier navigation around the course.
The works will include:
- 3rd hole - cart path extension at the start of the hole.
- 3rd hole - cart path extension and sand capping at the green.
- 4th hole - cart path extension from the tee to the fairway.
- 6th hole - cart path, sand capping and minor shaping works to the right of the green.
- 7th hole - cart path extension from the tee to fairway.
- 7th hole - cart path extension and sand capping on the left of the green.
- 8th hole - cart path from tee to green, renewal of bunker, sand capping and drainage on fairway and left side of green.
- 9th hole - extensive sand capping and drainage from tee to green with fairway extension back towards tee to improve playability.
Further improvement works to the back nine holes is scheduled to be undertaken in 2024.

Temporary hole closures
Update 15 February 2023:
From Monday 13 February to Friday 10 March, Dorset Golf will close the 7th, 8th and 9th holes. Golfers are welcome to book a 9-hole, 6-hole or 15-hole round. For an 18-hole round, we encourage golfers to visit Ringwood Golf.

- Online bookings are available from 8pm each day, for bookings up to 8 days in advance.
- Alternatively you can call us from 7am to book up to 7 days ahead.
