This summer is going to look a little different

During December and January, our Maroondah Leisure aquatic facilities at Croydon Memorial Pool, Aquahub and Aquanation may experience service impacts and/or closures at short notice. There is currently an industry-wide shortage of qualified workers, including lifeguards, duty managers, customer service staff and swim teachers.

While we will do our utmost to keep service impacts and closures to a minimum, there will be times when we will have staff shortages and we may need to reallocate employees to other aquatic facilities and/or to other parts of the facility, based on demand and public safety. This means we may have no option other than to close some elements or one of the three aquatic facilities for short periods of time.

We want to minimise the impact on our valued community and are committed to doing what we can to keep all our aquatic facilities open during summer. In the event this isn’t possible, we will determine the best course of action based on key factors, such as the weather, programming, and the actual service impacted by the staff shortage.
