Aquahub's dynamic recreational gymnastics program is delivered by nationally qualified coaches offering progressive foundation levels to build your child’s skills.

About our program

  • Specially designed gymanstics lessons to suit children aged 1 to 18+ years
  • Learn movement, control, coordination, core strength, balance and spatial awareness as well as socialise and have fun in a positive learning environment
  • Gymnastics provides children with the opportunity to develop the below key skills:
    1. Physical fitness: improves strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance
    2. Cognitive development: enhances focus, problem-solving, and spatial awareness
    3. General wellbeing: builds confidence, self-esteem, and social skills
  • Join at any stage throughout the year
  • All children under the age of 10 MUST be accompanied and actively supervised by a parent or guardian 16 years or older at all times whilst in the stadium area.

There are 3 easy steps to enrolling in our Gymnastics program:

  • Step 1 - Find the right level and availability using our Level guide
  • Step 2 - Enrol your student/s in the correct level using the enrolment links in the Level Guide. These links will take you to our online portal
  • Step 3 - Visit Customer Service on your first visit to collect your access card or fob and enjoy your first lesson

To enrol you will need will need to create an account, or log in to your existing account using the customer portal.

Level guide

The first step to enrolling your gymnast/s in to our Gymnastics program is to find the right level.

If you are enrolling a new Gymnastics student/s you will be prompted to complete an online assessment at the time of enrolment. This will ensure you enrol your gymnast/s into the right level.

Baby Gym (12 months to 2 years)

A fun parent-involved lesson that provides an early introduction to gymnastics and assists in setting the foundation for movement.

  • Cost: $29.80 per fortnight by direct debit
  • Lesson frequency and duration: 1 x 30-minute session per week
  • Day and time: Monday morning
  • Children from 12 months to 2 years old.

A parent/guardian is required to assist the lesson.

Toddler Gym (2 to 3 years)

A parent-assisted lesson exploring the fundamental skills of gymnastics and movement that keeps your toddler constantly engaged. The lesson focuses on building confidence and fine motor skills.

  • Fortnightly direct debit payments plus an annual $60 registration fee.
  • Cost: $46.60 per fortnight
  • Lesson frequency and duration: 1 x 45-minute session per week
  • Day and time: Monday – Sunday mornings
  • Children from 2 years to 3 years old

A parent/guardian is required to assist the lesson.

Pre-Kinder Gym (3 to 4 years)

A fun, structured, parent assisted lesson exploring the fundamental skills of gymnastics and movement.

  • Fortnightly direct debit payments plus an annual $60 registration fee.
  • Cost: $46.60 per fortnight
  • Lesson frequency and duration: 1 x one-hour session per week
  • Day and time: Monday to Sunday mornings
  • Children from 3 years to 4 years old

A parent/guardian is required to assist the lesson.

Kinder Gym (4 to 5 years)

A structured independent lesson exploring fundamental skills of gymnastics and movement. This lesson focuses on the children becoming more independent in their gymnastics.

  • Fortnightly direct debit payments plus an annual $60 registration fee.
  • Cost: $46.60 per fortnight
  • Lesson frequency and duration: 1 x one-hour session per week
  • Day and time: Monday to Sunday mornings
  • Children from 4 years to 5 years old

Foundation

A progressive curriculum where your child will learn Gymnastics skills according to their individual skill level.

  • Fortnightly direct debit payments plus an annual $60 registration fee.
  • Cost: $46.60 per fortnight
  • Lesson frequency and duration: 1 x one-hour session per week
  • Day and time: Monday to Friday afternoons, Saturday and Sunday mornings 

 

Foundation 1

Recommended for:

  • Children between the ages of 5 and 6 years
  • Children with no previous gymnastics experience

Foundation 2 Recommended for:
  • Children between the ages of 6 and 7 years
  • Children with minimal gymnastics experience who are working towards the following skills:
    • Forward roll on floor
    • Tuck swing on bars

If your child is currently working towards these skills, you should book into Foundation 2. If your child can already confidently do these skills, please look at the next level.

Foundation 3

Recommended for:

  • Children between the ages of 7 and 8 years
  • Children with moderate gymnastics experience who are working towards the following skills:
    • Half handstand
    • Walking on a high beam unassisted
    • Cast on bars

If your child is currently working towards these skills, you should book into Foundation 3. If your child can already confidently do these skills, please look at the next level.

Foundation 4

Recommended for:

  • Children between the ages of 8 and 9 years
  • Children with moderate gymnastics experience who are working towards the following skills:
    • Pullover on bars
    • Straight jump on beam
    • Backward roll

If your child is currently working towards these skills, you should book into Foundation 4. If your child can already confidently do these skills, please look at the next level.

Foundation 5

Recommended for:

  • Children between the ages of 9 and 11 years
  • Children with moderate gymnastics experience who are working towards the following skills:
    • Cartwheel
    • Dive roll
    • Candle stick hold on rings

If your child is currently working towards these skills, you should book into Foundation 5. If your child can already confidently do these skills, please look at the next level.

Foundation 6 Recommended for:
  • Children aged 11 years and over
  • Children with a high level of gymnastics experience who are working towards the following skills:
    • Back hip circle on bars
    • Bridge kickover
    • Swings on P bars

Teen Gymnastics (12+)

A program for beginners aged 12+.

Gymstar

A recreational session based on skills and experience, with the option to compete. Available by invitation only. To enquire please contact aquahub.programs@maroondah.vic.gov.au

Fortnightly direct debit payments plus an annual $60 registration fee.

Gymstar 3 to 6

Cost: $75.00 per fortnight

Session frequency and duration: 1 x two-hour session per week 
Gymstar 7 Extended

Cost: $166.25 per fortnight

Session frequency and duration: 2 x two and a half -hour sessions per week

Includes our new strength program sessions, which are ongoing throughout the year. These are exclusively designed to enhance your overall strength and elevate your performance. These sessions focus on specific training such as strength, speed, flexibility and power. The strength program session runs for 30 minutes once a week in the health club. Students must be 12 years of age or older to participate. 

In addition to the strength and training sessions you will receive a Fitness Plus Teen Gym Membership. The Fitness Plus Teen Membership is subject to the membership terms and conditions.

 

Access All Abilities

Our Access for All Abilities program is for students with additional learning needs.

We work with parents/carers to find a suitable gymnastics coach for their student, and work to transition students to group lessons where applicable.

Fortnightly direct debit payments plus an annual $60 registration fee

  • Ages from 4 years
  • 1:1 lessons for those with additional learning needs

Freeze (suspend) your Gymnastics program membership

Your membership entitles you to eight (8) weeks freeze per calendar year for any reason, including medical and public holidays (a medical certificate is not required within this 8 weeks allocation).

Any freeze requests beyond the allocated eight (8) weeks per calendar year require a medical certificate.
